Yakinuku Restaurant - Kazusuke

Restaurant Review by Junna

I went to eat Yakiniku in Shonandai last Wednesday with my friend. The shop's name is Kazusuke. I used to work there when I was a high school student. I sometimes go to eat there, though I no longer work there. I like to see my friend who works there as a full fledged employee.

At first, I ordered a drink, a bowl of rice and some meat. When I eat yakiniku, I always order a bowl of rice, because I think that rice goes well with yakiniku. This shop's recommendation is tripe. There are two types of tripe: Gold and Silver. Gold tripe is tender and juicy. Sliver tripe is very chewy. Though I like Gold tripe, Silver tripe is very popular in this shop. My advice is Gold tripe, harami, and kashira. Harami is beef diaphragm. Kashira is pork temple. They are all delicious. I think that the amount of meat is large. I always eat until my stomach becomes full. If you want to eat many kinds of meat, you should order the small size. Then you will enjoy the various flavors.

I think that this shop's atmosphere is good. This shop is lively and the employees are polite to customers, so I stay for a long time. I think that the service at the shop is good. Finally, ice cream and annin-dofu are served for dessert. This was the owner's present to me. If you are a regular customer at this shop, you may get special service from the owner. So I recommend you to be nice to him.

I think that the shop's location is bad. It is a 15 minute walk from Shonandai Station to the shop. The long way from the station is regrettable, but there is no problem in the shop once you get there. My friend also likes this shop. The shop is open all year round. Please go there when you want to eat yakiniku!

Address: 6-27-7 Shonandai, Fujisawa-shi, Kanagawa Prefecture

Access: It is about 700 meters from Shonadai Station to Kazusuke. It takes about 15 minute to get there on foot.

Grand Buffet - A Convenient Restaurant to Enjoy Meals

Restaurant Review by Swwie

Have you ever had a small quarrel to decide which restaurant you are going to when you go out with your family, friends or boyfriend? If you want to eat different foods from each other, why don't you go to Grand Buffet where you can find something everyone will like?

Grand Buffet is a restaurant that offers many kinds of dishes that are prepared in the middle of the restaurant. The customers take foods they want from the counter by themselves. There are Japanese food, Italian food, Western food, Chinese food and so on. In addition to those dishes, Spanish food is being served there now as part of their Spanish Fair.

I tried many of them, for example, French toast, French fries, pizza and udon. Those dishes were cooked well and tasted delicious. Surprisingly, the customers can boil udon and ramen by themselves, so they can eat fresh and hot noodles at the very best moment.

Also, there are various kinds of desserts, such as cakes, puddings, jellies, soft ice cream, and a big chocolate fountain. Have you ever tried a chocolate fountain? Chocolate is melted and circulates like a fountain, and you can dip cookies, cream puffs and bananas in the chocolate fountain. The customers can have as much as they want. However, I strongly recommend not to dip many things in the chocolate fountain, because they are too sweet to eat a lot!

Because of the system that customers take food from the counter by themselves, the waitresses come to the tables only to clear them. The waitresses are well coached, so the tables are kept clean even though the customers bring many dishes again and again. Also, the cooks are preparing many foods before the items are gone from the counter, so the customers do not have to wait or give up having the foods they would like to have.

The service at this restaurant is usually good; however, there is a long line in front of the restaurant and it is always crowded, so the customers sometimes need to wait to enter the restaurant and pay their check when they are finished.

Grand Buffet is located on the 10th floor of Keikyu Department Store that is part of Kamiooka Station. Kamiooka is very near to Yokohama, one of the famous cities in Japan, so many people often use the station in order to transfer trains. Because of the location, people can go to the department store to enjoy shopping and then they can have lunch or dinner at Grand Buffet. Grand Buffet is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for lunch and from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for dinner time.

Kamakama - A Good Kamameshi in Kamakura

Restaurant Review by CCC

I want to introduce the restaurant Kamakama. Kamakama is about a 5 minute walk from Kamakura Station. Kamakama is a clean and small restaurant, and the number of seats is 21. It is open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. It mainly serves kamameshi.

I ate the mushroom salad and the shirasu nishoku kamameshi. The mushroom salad was laid on a big dish with potherb mustards and there were mushrooms on top. It had dressing on it (sorry, I couldn't understand what kind of dressing). In this salad, there are many baked mushrooms, velvet shanks, shiitake mushrooms, maitake mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, and so on. The variety of mushrooms had a nice flavor. This salad was good and its quantity was large.

The shirasu nishoku kamameshi was a small pot of cooked rice and there were boiled whitebaits and raw whitebaits on its surface. It was served hot individually. The rice was brown and cooked with a special soup stock that was really tasty. The raw whitebaits were very small, lustrous and translucent, and they had a slightly bitter but good taste.

There is a special way to eat kamameshi. First, mix the contents of kamameshi in your pot. You make cooked rice with various ingredients, but in this case, you should avoid mixing hot rice and raw whitebaits. Second, serve the contents in your bowl from your pot and eat. At that time, leave a few of the contents in your pot. Finally, serve the last contents in your bowl from your pot, and add spices and nori to the contents as you like. Then pour a good and hot soup stock in your bowl; this makes an ochazuke. And then eat it! It's great! This shirasu nishoku kamameshi was delicious, as it had cooked rice with various ingredients and an ochazuke.

Fishermen are permitted to catch whitebaits for a limited season, so please be careful that you eat raw whitebaits in that season. But Kamakama has other various menus, drinks, dishes, and kamameshi. They are very good. So, why don't you eat a good kamameshi at this restaurant?

Kurotora - Tasty Ramen in Akihabara

Restaurant Review by K

This time I will introduce a ramen shop called Kurotora. The place is Tokyo Akihabara. This shop is recorded in Tokyo Walker.

In Kurotora, there are six kinds of ramen and tsukemen. The simplest ramen is Raumen, and the price is reasonable at 680 yen. There are chashu (pork slices), seaweed, a spring onion, and a kikurage in it.

When the meal ticket is put out, the ramen is served in about three minutes. There are three clerks, and they are very energetic. After service is also good.

The inside of the shop, the counter, the chairs, the floor, and the wall are tied together in black. It is beautiful.

Go out of Akihabara Station to the Showa Street side. Then go left about 5 minutes on foot.

Chikuha - Delicious Seafood Dinner

Restaurant Review by Potchama

This time, I will introduce a restaurant that can be found in Enoshima. The restaurant's name is Chikuha. It is written as bamboo and wave in kanji. Enoshima is well known for its popular sea. It is filled with young people every summer. And there is Enoshima Aquarium. Chikuha stands across from Enoshima Aquarium.

In Chikuha, we can enjoy a very delicious Japanese seafood dinner. For example, in the fall season, we can eat fugu (puffer fish), mackerel, and crab. In addition to the seasonal menu, there are various seafood items that are always on the menu. My favorite item is kakiage and miso soup with seasoned laver.

Chikuha is by no means a new restaurant, but the inside of the shop is always neat and clean. And Chikuha has decorated its interior recently. All dining tables and chairs have been changed. So it is very comfortable to eat there.

We ate at Chikuha on the day my family celebrated my grandfather's release from the hospital. We ate slices of puffer fish, a pot dish of puffer, tataki of beef, crab salad, slices of raw tuna, and mackerel stewed with miso. I think that both children and adults can be satisfied with all of the dishes.

Spicy Thai Food at Thai Erawan

Restaurant Review by Ken

I'd like to introduce a Thai food restaurant located just 3 minutes from Central Station Yokosuka Thai Erawan. I want to introduce the menu at this restaurant. I have many favorite items, but the one I recommend most is fried chicken with basil. The basil chicken is a simple chicken dish with green beans and bell peppers, flavored with a mix of ethnic Thai flavors, such as garlic and Thai fish sauce. The price is ¥800 And the photo at left shows the Thai spring roll. Ordered as an appetizer, it is better to eat when you have money. After your meal, you get a free dessert!

The weekday lunch set is recommended if you want to eat cheaply. The lunch set menu is only ¥700 and comes with soup, salad, a main dish and dessert. The restaurant is near the U.S. Military base, so at lunchtime, many of the customers are American. You can also see businessmen who work in the neighborhood. If you want to eat spicy food, please go to Thai Erawan.

My Favorite Past Restaurant - Goemon

Restaurant Review by Iibui

I recently eat out in a restaurant after school. I have been to many restaurants. My favorite restaurant is Goemon. It is a pasta chain restaurant. I think the restaurant isn’t very famous, but I like it.

There are a lot of menu items at Goemon. Now there are some limited menu items during the fall only. You can see them in the picture at the right. I haven't tried them yet, but I think these three types of pasta have a wide appeal. There are also a Ladies Set and a Dessert Set in the restaurant. The Ladies Set has pasta, soup, salad and a soft drink. The price is ¥1,450. The Dessert Set has pasta, soup, a dessert (cake, jello, and more) and a soft drink. The price is ¥1,560. It isn’t very cheap, but it is very delicious.

There are Goemon restaurants in many places, such as Shinjuku and Shibuya, among others. I always go to Machida’s Goemon. That restaurant isn’t very famous, but I think it will come into fashion in the future.

Trattoria Donna D'oro

Restaurant Review by Yuta

There are many kinds of restaurants in Japan - Japanese, Chinese, French, Italian, etc. I will introduce an Italian restaurant located in a place where many kinds of restaurants can be found. Trattoria Donna D'oro is an Italian restaurant on the 5th floor of World Porters in Sakuragicho. The shop is very beautiful and you have a commanding view of Sakuragicho from there.

The restaurant specializes in pasta and pizza. Of course, the dishes are very delicious. Pasta is especially popular there. My recommendation is carbonara. There are a lot of cheeses in the carbonara, and the cream sauce is thick and very delicious. The way the noodles are boiled is especially good, and the texture is perfect. The price is reasonable, so go at least once by all means.
