Rakeru - an omelet restaurant that uses premium eggs!!

Restaurant Review by D. D.

I'd like to introduce the restaurant Rakeru. Rakeru is a restaurant that serves omelets and Japanese omurice. Rakeru has 48 shops in Japan. Almost all shops are in the Kanto region (shop location list) so some people who live in the Kanto region may know Rakeru. I went to the Shibuya Miyamasuzaka shop with my friend.

Omurice is a popular dish in Japan. It's an omelet with a filling of ketchup‐seasoned fried rice. Rakeru is particular about its ingredients, especially eggs. Rakeru uses Yodo Ran Hikari. It’s a premium egg.

Rakeru has about 20 tables so you don’t need to wait long and you don’t need a reservation. Four people can dine at one table. There is no counter, but we can see the kitchen depending on the table.

Rakeru has many menu items. You might be unable to decide what to order. That happened to me. The most popular menu is Omurice and Hamburg with Demiglace sauce (¥1,166). Finally, I decided on  Chicken and Tomato Cream Omurice (¥1,058) and Salad Set (¥216). I t was so nice!! These are not expensive if your budget is ¥1,200. You can also choose the course menu if you like (plate, drink, soup, bread (¥1,382), with dessert (¥1,706)).

In general, omurice uses ketchup‐seasoned fried rice, but this restaurant doesn't use ketchup-seasoned fried rice. Rakeru uses curried pilaf.  The taste is very nice, and we were well satisfied.

The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, and we could enjoy a leisurely meal. Some Rakeru shops do not allow smoking, but some shops have separate areas for smokers and non-smokers. And Rakeru’s waitress uniforms are cute, so check them out if you go there.

Thanks for reading my review.
